Anna Hehn - the artist
Anna L. (Marino) Hehn is currently a resident of Reading, Pennsylvania living in a nearly 100 year old Queen Anne Victorian row home. Being a child of an urban setting did not always provide a view of nature as she hoped for, so she created her own world through art.
"I remember always being interested in drawing all sorts of creatures. First domestic types such as dogs and cats, then farm animals, the exotic cats of the jungle, song birds, butterflies, and birds of prey. All creatures brought me hours of fascination with pencil lines, charcoal smudging, combining various mediums with colors and expressions and becoming forever enamored with the subject being drawn at the time.
As time passes, I have begun to capture more angelic subjects on paper with pastels many times being the single point of focus on a tablet page. My art is an expression of my own harmony with my world and I invite everyone to view my personal visions."
The future…
The future of my art work is to extend my subjects into other mediums specifically to return to water color which was my early training. One such work will be released shortly entitled "A Gathering of Sunflowers". I also foresee my subjects shall include my experiences on trips to Ireland and along the Lewis and Clark Trail of the United States by train, as well as the local environs of Berks County, Pennsylvania.
Signed and numbered prints, journals, and photographs will be forth coming.
